Josefina Acevedo November 12, 1912- June 23, 2008.
This week i attended the funeral of my great Grandmother.
She had a long life and is the foundation of our family. Her love
has touched everyone in our family and her strength has been
passed to each generation.

My Job

Well i have a pretty cool job for the summer i work at Shenfeld Studio were i help make ceramic tiles and stain glass windows. Bob Shenfeld is my high school ceramics teacher he is a really cool guy. I really like the people i work with and its nice to be doing something with ceramics even if its more production than art.This is the mosaic sign that hangs above the door of the studio it welcomes me every morning a 8.
Here is the tile press it is probably as dangerous as it looks but its kind of cool use such a large piece of equipment.

this one of the windows for the Terning Stone Casino. I have cut the glass but still need to learn how to put the windows together and solder them.
And finally here is one of the tiles for New York subway system i hope i get to work on some of these it would be cool to work on something that will be installed in a subway station. well that was a small glimpse at all the cool thing that are going on at my job.

Chillin at the Bus Roadeo

So my dad works as a supervisor for the city bus company Centro and this weekend they held the annual bus roadeo. Its fun to go and see all the people having fun and eating free food. It was also cool to see some of the people I used to work with during the 4 summers i worked for Centro. below is an article all about the roadeo!

SYRACUSE -- For nearly 30^th years the Centro bus division held its Centro Rodeo at the State Fair Grounds.

Drivers from four different counties compete for bragging rights and the chance to represent the area at the state tournament. They are put through an obstacle course that they have seven minuets to finish. Judges riding the bus keep track of how smooth the ride is and that the driver is following the rules inside. Things like using a blinker, beeping the horn before they back up, and announcing what stop is coming up.

Outside, judges are making sure the drivers aren’t hitting cones, driving within the course and able to maneuver around. At the end of the day all the points are tallied up and the winners are announced. For many of the drivers, today is about relaxing and having a good time with co-workers from around the area. They can bring their family and show off what they do everyday at work, and also enjoy a nice lunch.

Well let’s begin at the beginning! It was July 21, 1982 a day like any other in Ocean Side, CA; the sun was out in full force, the sky was a blue reserved for Disney Movies, and life was in full swing as it usually is. Unbeknownst to the world on this day which was seemingly like any other, mysteries forces where at work and the dawn of a golden age had risen. The planets where aliened in such a way as to allow the heavens to open and the divine light of truth to shower a blessing upon the earth which was foretold from the beginning of time. All of a sudden the ground shuck, dogs barked, birds lapped in to the air, and, every phone, alarm, car horn, and siren went off at ones. The cacophony lasted for only 30 seconded than as suddenly as it had stated all fell silent and the only sound that could be hired around the world was the faint sound of a newborn babies cry. I was born. Born to change lives, born to make a difference, and born for greatness! Now I know a lot of you readers out there are thinking what a jerk! Can he be any more full of himself?
